What fun we had singing the oldies and hymns at Walker at Hazel Ridge! It was a great day to be inside enjoying the music because outside there was more of the rain that has been besetting us recently.

I heard quite a fantastic opera last night: Britten's "Turn of the Screw," done by the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra. Those who left after intermission missed an astounding second half. Subject matter, music, performances--i was blown away.
I was privileged to play for a memorial service at a care center. A lady sang along with every song and sounded like a sweet little bird. It was lovely. It was a wonderful weekend of music for me. Soloist Veronika Eberle had us all spellbound with her magnificent violin playing at the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra concert last night. And today I heard the National Lutheran Choir perform, accompanied by Aaron David Miller, who also did an organ improvisation on themes given him at the concert. It was all so inspiring. And we had beautiful weather to boot, yea!I am eager to make more of my music available, and to that end I am listing titles. old and new, on Sheet Music Plus. Check back, as pieces are being added. Additionally songs can also be obtained from publishers, music stores, or from me directly.I'm thinking back to the fun we had at the Lodge at White Bear in February. Residents joined me for a Singalong celebrating Valentine's Day and President's Day. It is amazing how many love songs there are and how many of those the residents know by heart! Singing helped warm us on that frigid day.
Augsburg Fortress has just released my latest piece called "At the Cross.." Click the link to hlisten. http://store.augsburgfortress.org/store/product/19105/At-the-Cross?c=285703
We celebrated Veteran's Day at the Lodge at White Bear, complete with American flags, the Stars and Stripes Forever, the Gettysburg Address, and songs popular during war times. It was a joy to welcome guest participants Paul and Ruth, and we appreciated the warm reception shown by the residents. It was a real privilege to be able to honor the veterans and their families in this small way.
"Singing Changes your Brain," is another interesting article about what singing can do for your brain: http://ideas.time.com/2013/08/16/singing-changes-your-brain/print/?goback=%2Egde_1968834_member_267947409#%21
