I heard quite a fantastic opera last night: Britten's "Turn of the Screw," done by the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra. Those who left after intermission missed an astounding second half. Subject matter, music, performances--i was blown away.

I was privileged to play for a memorial service at a care center. A lady sang along with every song and sounded like a sweet little bird. It was lovely. It was a wonderful weekend of music for me. Soloist Veronika Eberle had us all spellbound with her magnificent violin playing at the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra concert last night. And today I heard the National Lutheran Choir perform, accompanied by Aaron David Miller, who also did an organ improvisation on themes given him at the concert. It was all so inspiring. And we had beautiful weather to boot, yea! |
